Noticed one of the broken houses had an extra thousand bucks in it and pounced on it immediately. Forgot the fact that I had 6k worth of tools in my backback. Fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu.

No, but you can step past each other simultaneously without being shot.

Frustrated lol. I've survived 60k assaults before without the vault ever being found. I figured it was you poking your nose around and I knew you only had 6k tongue.

That's a nice looking painting you have there wink.

Yeah pretty neat, got it for only 6k from another vault + some tools tongue And that's the truth wink

Ooh nice. I just got a couple more from Mr Bissonnette. Not very good ones, but pretty darn easy compared to Stefans scary base.

Anyone know who has that cool scarab beetle painting? Wouldn't mind acquiring it at some stage.

EDIT: And another 2 instantly using Mr Bissonnettes money. Thanks Mr Ronald Fredrick Cooper wink.

EDIT 2: And another 3 using Mr Coopers money. Thanks Mr Clinton Brian Callaghan. Btw Stefan, your base was by FAR the most intimidating and expensive to crack.

How do you solve it?

You walk up to the dog until you are touching, then come back down to the bottom. Head right, under the panic button, then onto it and left. The dog is now behind you. Then you head up to the wife and do the same thing. It is really well timed in that you step past each other without her shooting you, then around the corner to the vault.

Hey I saw that house. My friend was playing and showed it to me saying it isn't possible. I solved it for him because I remembered your chihuahua surfing tutorials. I think it was already beaten at that stage though, it only had a few bucks in it.

I don't know why, but it always seems like other people somehow have bigger houses and have room to fit more stuff. This house is really complicated and look huge, but is still in the same space. Mine seems small and easy in comparison (even though no one has gotten past the first part smile). I know it's just my imagination but it's still weird. also, please do post the vid.

My design is cluttery, so I guess it seems like a larger house due to the lack of order. It kind of reflects my personality.
Anyway. Here's a link to the video. No fancy editing or anything: https://vimeo.com/m/89586244 (embedding it later, from home)

Haha awesome video. I got slightly bolder towards the end when I realised there was no room for you to be hiding any sort of clock mechanism. I just scanned every pixel for stray cats before each step.

You must be Mr Timothy Bennett Walton. I was getting so frustrated not being able to get back home and pick up a few tools. Mr Connell's house had an extra couple of grand in it and I wanted to grab it before anyone else did.

But welcome to my castle, feel free to come back and play around wink

I knew I was getting myself into trouble when I started picking on you. I'm quite the green robber, and needed the pressure. Frankly, your house scared the shit outta me. The last time I was in there I barely got out in time. I've got the sound muted, so I didn't hear the sirens (if they make a sound, that is). The red text with the countdown suddenly caught my eye, and it was all I could do not to freak out.
Soon, I'll suicide. The bounty goes to a friend with an interesting project. After that I'll be your regular petty thief, experimenting with house designs until I come up with something I've never seen before.

And for the record: Mr. Howard's house is in no way a pitiful excuse for a home. That was just my mouth talking. big_smile

EDIT: Shlam? I imagine that your heart must have been pumping a little faster than normal when that dog chased you out of my house on you last scouting run. Am I right? I know I would have been worried about whether or not I had a clear path.

Yes my heart was racing, but I had a castledraft map of everything I had seen of your place, so I just took it step by step and made sure not to make a mistake. If I recall correctly, didn't I lead it into a pit and then get cheeky and head back in?

#60 Re: Main Forum » I'm sad... » 2014-03-19 23:31:54

That is my fault I'm afraid. I was engaged in a battle with a top pager, trying to steal his 15 paintings. He retaliated and died in my house. I used the 40k I got from him and snapped up all of the cheap paintings that nobody seemed to want.

I rob people all the time, just today I robbed a couple of nice paintings. You can follow the saga of it over in the "Sarsparilla showdown" thread. I was just saying that when I do rob people I am super prepared and cautious; I would never risk placing myself in a puzzle without protection.

By the way, your name is Anthony Hugh Miller.

#61 Re: Main Forum » I'm sad... » 2014-03-19 23:24:50

Get more art and I may be persuaded to have a crack tongue. Though I only brute force. With a 6 week old house and 50 paintings, I'm not standing a single step out of place.

#62 Re: Main Forum » I'm sad... » 2014-03-19 23:11:37

Do you have one painting? Black background with colourful squares?

It was more a case of self defense/pride. I never would have attacked you for the final Sarsparilla, your base was too intimidating in the entrance; but since you started gunning for me I needed to get rid of you tongue. Plus, I figure I've spent 50k on single paintings before, so spending 40k on 2 new ones, plus a 15k rebate is a sound investment.

If anyone is interested in a new saga, I just used the money I got from you to scout Michael Louis Bissonnette and I have 3/4 of his map scouted. Anyone know if he is on the forums? Give him a chance to hit back wink

#64 Re: Main Forum » WTH? » 2014-03-19 21:57:54

I don't think it is worth it to start a game with the 2k. If you know all the tricks for robbery then you can usually crack one of the 4-8k houses pretty easily (and with a bit of luck). And if you fail, so what? You can always start with 2k later anyway.

#65 Re: Main Forum » This game is addictive! » 2014-03-19 21:56:00

Just keep your value over 4k and it doesn't matter if you have a commit gate, you will get hoards of 2k robbers. If your house survives long enough, this will continue until you hit 10k and then you will stop seeing anyone.

It does help if your entrance looks inviting though. My commit trap is a very simple design, but unless people have seen it before they do not even know they are committed until it happens. It's nothing groundbreaking, but amazing how many new players fall for it.

#66 Re: Main Forum » Funniest Home Surveillance Tapes » 2014-03-19 21:38:07

I thought it might have been me, because I remember the vault 2 spaces in front of the door. Like I said, keep a close eye on the types of houses I mentioned above and you would really be surprised how often gifts like that arise. Also all of the houses at the bottom of the list with hundreds of attempts (obviously broken) show up very frequently with thousands of dollars in them.

Thanks for the competition Stefan, it was fun. I enjoyed your map, very intricate and clever. As you can see from your tape I was being overly cautious most of the way, but I really like the no tools solution. Lots of manipulating pets, lots of leaps of faith, very dangerous smile

I hope to see you on the top pages again, you are welcome to try my house anytime wink

#68 Re: Main Forum » Sarsaparilla Showdown! » 2014-03-19 19:32:03

You only have 12k to your name Stefan, you are welcome to come and blow it in my house if you want. I'll be back to yours sometime today to finish this. You would never have even been on my radar if you hadn't thrown down so publicly. You only have 2 paintings, I usually like to off people with more.

It is so difficult to edit this trap to fit the budget.  I just noticed the price discrepancies as well.  Hopefully this one works now that I put the window back.

I just robbed 2 paintings from someone using a slightly upgraded version of this design. How they managed to get them is beyond me, but they were the easiest I've ever stolen. Was it you?

I have like 7 William Beebe's and 2 of those fb73w7i85yohrsifu87wio83grhfb9sw8 paintings. I hope you like bad art wink.

I don't know who you are Amatiel, but I usually go for the low hanging fruit. I just stole another easy painting tonight, and I'm scouting my way towards 3 more in a seemingly simple house. Just waiting for another big fish to fry in my slaughterhouse wink

#72 Re: Main Forum » Sarsaparilla Showdown! » 2014-03-18 09:17:33

Haha, I was just being playfully petulant, wasn't being serious. But yes, I have the two of them. I feel a bit of a sense of propriety over them, I had them for a fortnight before dying in a self test. Then I went and hunted them down a second time.

You must be online, I just tried to poke my head into your place. Don't know my name, but I have the Sarsparilla paintings on display and I'm sitting at around 20k. Might drop down in value if I decide to buy another painting before going offline though.

That's what happens when people lose connection to the server after entering a house. Poor bloke must be very annoyed if he was going well enough to have that kind of bounty.

Now that I think about it... I think this is a player with dual account, because a rich player broke in after him to get the 'stashed' money.

Maybe, but not necessarily. I like to hover between the 1-5k mark and poke my head into houses with 1-1 or 2-1. I've picked up several thousand from abandoned vaults numerous times. I also have a list of about 10 names at the very bottom of the list which are broken. You'd be surprised how often they show up in the 1-5k range with large amounts of cash and tools. I've even noticed that some people have a tendency to go on suicide runs and dump 1k in all of the bottom houses.

#74 Re: Main Forum » Sarsaparilla Showdown! » 2014-03-18 05:14:03

I did. I earnt them and they are mine. I spent >50k scouting their previous owner, and was literally hours from the final heist. He retaliated and died in my house, sending them back to the auction house. I was never going to let them slip.

The 1-step death houses also have a way of killing me when I'm not giving the game my full attention.  I know it's my fault, but since any completed house lets you step through the door, I'm never worried about that.  Back to the base $2000 with no idea how to rob someone since everyone has bit locks and magic dog dances. (Both of which unavoidable with 2k).
#Rantover

That is why I take both of my hands clear off the keyboard whenever I enter *any* house. It's because I 1-step killed myself in some crappy broken house and gave him a 90k bounty.
