The keystone seems to be "wires passing through walls".  Metal walls (that conduct) also play an important role here.  So, what if there's no way to pass current through walls, at all?  Suddenly, that hallway with 9-thick doors down it needs all the door opening logic on the OUTSIDE of the hallway.  The robber can get to it, study it, and mess with it (clip wires, etc).

With this change, you could still have timing traps and all the rest.... BUT, all the logic for those timing traps would have to be reachable by the robber.  Even if they fail the timing trap this time, they could still look at how it works, by walking around the logic, for next time.

There's still the possibility of thick fort in the center with timing logic inside it by the vault (where you have to walk around the fort in a certain pattern to open it).

Maybe there can be only one power supply in the house, in a fixed location (south east corner), and all wires need to come off of that (that makes more sense anyway, because that's the way real houses are).

Then there's the problem that players would guard their logic with long corridors containing 9+ pitbulls.  You could never get down there to examine the logic.

Pitbulls could kill each other if they get too close to each other...

I think all these ideas together would be a good temporary if not permanent fix.

I agree but it is becoming a problem. On the "Facepalm inducing deaths" thread someone was spamming as a guest using a whole bunch of different names.

No, if you want to remember it you can always take a screenshot.

I often find myself going into full robbery mode when I die on one of my complex designs and don't wish to create any traps for the time being. I just try and rob other people instead then. The problem with v5 is that each time i finish robbing someone or probing someone I'm only left with the choice to go back home. I think a quality of life improvement would be to add a second button that says "go rob someone" so that I wouldn't have to go back to my house, click DONE and then click Rob again.

I believe the reason you can't do that is so you have to bring your money home. When you go home all the money you got does too. When someone is robbing you, your money does not go home. This is how I understand it.

I think someone has pointed this out already, but its really awful that you have to beat your house once again after it has been burgled to watch the security tape. I have just died trying to do exactly this..

Is there any way at all to get that security tape? IM DYING TO FIND OUT how I was robbed...

Jason already said he will change this in V6.

Jason, Can you do one of those image human account creation verifiers or whatever you call them?

Guests can still post replies, though.  We'll see how that goes.

Yea there was one person who was spamming as Guest and they were using the same name as a registered spammer.

Use this thread to post all spamming accounts so Jason can deal with them.

-a map protection square, (you can make a part of your room invisible on maps, but not your whole room)

I like the idea but it would not currently work as a square (I assume you meen tile) (unless it is hiding an empty space and that is pointless) because Jason would have to add a separate tile type for every tile. Maybe he could add a secondary editor for it.

Raisane wrote:

-battery charged electric floor, (the battery will charge once the electric floor has been given electricity once, the moment the electricity goes offline, the floor gets electricity from the battery, resulting in it being powered for another X amount of turns)

This could easily be stopped by moving back and forth. I admit this might work sometimes but not alot of the time.

Raisane wrote:

-a pole within which you can skip an empty square (so not one with an electric floor / button etc), this can be used to avoid pitbulls / being a step ahead on traps made by pitbulls/dogs/cats

Kind of pointless if you have the boots but it might work if it would allow you to reverse direction by jumping over the animal.

Raisane wrote:

-running shoes (every 3 squares you walk, dogs/pitbulls/family walks 2)

This might be Ok, but since this is turn based it would be kinda awkward to implement. It might as well just teleport you once, in one turn the same amount of spaces.

In general theses are great ideas. Good job!
